Lixxus Fault - 17.31 on the 20th January
At 17.31 on the 20th January the Lixxus network suffered a partial loss of transit over its Global Switch 1 network. Although there is a dual fibre link to our Telehouse North POP, the transit through Telehouse North failed to converge traffic routes from some Global Switch connected customers.
This affected some Leased Lines and DSL customers connected to Global Switch LNS’s at the time of the outage. Although the actual physical circuits were not affected, their ability to see the outside world was affected until 18.03 when the problem was resolved.
The outage was caused by a fibre break between Global Switch 2 and Telehouse East on the Datahop network. Lixxus use Datahop to reach various suppliers in Telehouse East from our Global Switch POP. Customers directly connected via Lixxus Telehouse North POP were not affected by this outage. We have received confirmation from Datahop that this link has now been repaired and is fully operational again.

As part of our ongoing plan of improvements Lixxus will be updating the firmware on a number of core servers and routers within our GS1 & THN PoPs.
This should have no visible affect to customers as traffic will be routed via alternative hardware before work commences. As a precautionary measure however, please be advised that services could potentially experience disruptions during this maintenance window.

Type: Inbound PSTN Numbers
Impact: Inbound calls to all Lixxus office numbers failing
Further Information:
Inbound calls from the PSTN network to Lixxus not routing correctly, callers will hear a recorded message stating the party has hung up. This issue has currently been raised with our inbound provider for further investigation. Updates to this will be posted as soon as information is received.
